How fitting today! Snow! Winter Scrapbook Page

Hi again, today I'm posting another scrapbook page.  The picture is from 3 years ago...and my kids look so little!  They LOVE the snow and that's a good thing because about 3 inches of the white, fluffy stuff fell here last night and about 5-7 inches more are predicted for tomorrow morning.  I feel that if it's going to be cold, then it may as well snow so my kids can enjoy it.  They've been waiting for weeks to pull on their snow boots.  I know what they'll be doing when they come home from school today!

I started with the sketch from the current challenge over at the GO Fish challenge blog.  Found some great paper from the DCWV Holiday stack (love the greens!), pulled out my Cricut and cut the "winter" word art and the squirrel.  Couldn't help giving the squirrel a pink hat...to match my daughter's pink jacket in the picture.  :-)

Winter Fun Layout using Winter Woodland and 3 Birds on Parade

Hello...and happy Saturday!  I'm so happy to be posting a scrapbook page today!!  I share a resolution with many of you - to get more pages done - and this is my first of the year.  Whoo hoo!  I hope to have another one completed by Tuesday.  The pictures I scrapped are from last February during my kids' school vacation.  We spent a few days at my parents' house in New Hampshire sledding and snowboarding in their yard.  They have a hill behind their house that's perfect for the kids.  It was a beautiful day and the kids all had a blast in the yard.  They made the cutest snowman too.  Do your kids love playing in the snow?  Mine would stay out all day if I let them! 

I used 3 Birds on Parade for the snowball-throwing bird...isn't he a cutie? The snowflakes are favorites of mine from Winter Woodland. I used a fine glitter on them...and added some blue rhinestones...I love the look. :-) The layout came from the January 2010 PageMaps. I often use their layouts...I find them to be a great starting point for me. Getting started is usually the most difficult part!

Christmas Treat Bags for My Students...and Other Crafty Goodness!

Hi everyone, it's snowing here in southeastern Massachusetts....looks like we might have a white Christmas after all!  The weather folks forecasted no more than 2 inches of snow for our area, but it's been snowing for 24 hours now with no end in sight.  I'd better look for my kids' winter boots before they get home from school.  I know they'll be itching to get outside with their sleds!  :-)  I posted a picture below....look at all that white stuff!

I wanted to share with you the treat bags I made up for my 3rd grade CCD students.  I love the toppers....all of the images are from Paper Doll Dress Up (one of my all-time favorite Cricut cartridges).



My children and I also made glittered ornaments and angel ornaments.  These will be given to friends, family and my children's CCD teachers.  This was the first year we attempted either of these projects...and I'm pleased to say that they were both quick and easy!  Yea!  The instructions for the glitter ornaments can be found HERE and those for the angel ornaments are HERE.  

This will most likely be my last post until after Christmas.  My to-do list is still quite long (yours too, I'd bet!) so I won't be crafting any more until Santa has come and gone.  But I wish you all the happiest of holidays....may they be merry and bright!
