Peachy Keen Stamps - Challenge #34

I wasn't sure whether I'd complete this one in time...but I managed!  What a busy week!  We returned from vacation in Maine last weekend (think laundry, laundry, laundry) and we've been struggling ever since to find the cause of an injury to my oldest son's knee.  Two doctor's visits, an x-ray and a blood test later, we think it may be caused by Lyme disease.  Not the diagnosis I was expecting, for sure, but we live in southeastern Massachusetts and the woods here are infested with the disease-carrying ticks.  Although his blood test showed negative results for Lyme disease, my son will be retested in a few weeks per the advice of his orthopedic surgeon.  So, he's on a 4-week course of antibiotics...but we're still not sure why his knee is aching like it is.  Hopefully, time will tell.  But soon.

Anyway, enough of that.  :-)  As soon as I saw the sketch for the current challenge at the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge blog, I knew I had to use it to create a scrapbook page of my middle son's First Communion, which we celebrated this past Spring.  The cross just stood right out and made my decision for me.  :-)  Here's the sketch:

And here's my scrapbook page:

It will be the first of a two-page layout of the celebration.  It's simple and straightforward...and the best part is that it didn't take me too long to do...a definite first for me...yea!

Don't you love it when the idea comes instantly! Cute picture and nice layout! Thanks for playing along with us at Peachy Keen! Good luck! Hope your son feels better soon. I live in MA too and 2 of my sons got lyme's disease a couple of years ago. I am pretty sure I got it too but never tested positive. Anyway I am glad your son is being treated for it and hope he is back to himself real soon!

I love your scrapbook page! I've been collecting embellishments for when my nephew makes his first communion!! Your son looks like a sweet boy!
I sure hope his knees start to feel better! My sis and I went to Maine back in 1997 and she got cellulitis, we think from swimming in the ocean but we can't be sure!! I sure hope your son feels better soon!
Good Luck with the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge!!
