"At the Camp" Picture & Frame for Father's Day

Just a quick post tonight.  My DVR is full, so I'm overdue for a few hours in front of the TV.  :-)  I have Glee, The Mentalist and many episodes of Desperate Housewives on deck.  Can't wait to settle in!

I've been thinking for a while about making a frame and finally took the leap this week.  Kristal at Getting Cricky with K. Andrew is hosting a "Let's Get Campy" challenge and I thought this would be the perfect time to make a frame to give to my dad for Father's Day.  My parents bought a small camp in Maine two years ago.  It's very remote, on a gorgeous lake, near the border of New Hampshire and Canada.  My kids love spending time there, but because it's more than a 5 hour drive from our house, we don't make the trip as often as we'd like.  We swim, fish, hike, boat, canoe, read, play games, and sit and talk.  None of the distractions of home.  It's wonderful.

I started with a plain wooden frame from Michael's which I painted a hunter green.  The picture of my children and my parents was taken in front of the camp last summer.  The frame cut is from Pooh and Friends, the title font from Alphalicious and the heart from George & Basic Shapes.  The remaining die cuts are all from Camp Out Solutions.  My 7 yr-old daughter left behind a note and drawing for my parents at the camp last year that read "You Gotta Love the Camp"...hence the phrase I used.  It's become a popular phrase at my house!  :-)

Recipe
Alphalicious, Camp Out Solutions, George & Basic Shapes, Pooh & Friends Cricut cartridges
Wood grained paper - Cosmo Cricket
Patterned paper on owl - Basic Grey 'Recess'
All other cardstock - Recollections
Dark brown Cat's Eye chalk ink
Brown Creative Memories marker
Googly eye
EK Success dimensionals

I'm entering my project into four challenges:
My Creative Time's Throwback Thursday - Create a 3-D item using any "older" Cricut cartridge of your choice.  I used 4 older cartridges!!  (I need to update my Cricut cartridge library!)
Paper Cutz Challenge #89: Anything Goes! - Make a card, layout or craft project using any colors and any theme you'd like.
Creative Cutter Room's Talk Time Tuesday: Linking Party - Share a layout, card, home decor item or gift idea.

Have a great night!

My DVR is getting filled up as well. All the same, with the exception of Glee, too funny!

I love, love this frame, what an awesome idea. You decorated so perfectly. Not too much, not too little!! I am sure your Dad will love it!
